ABOUT ME

photo fo the bake-aholicI’m just a girl who loves to bake.  Nothing I make is too difficult or complicated.  I have spent a lot of time in my kitchen, learning through a LOT of trial and error.  (Really, who could have predicted that a pan of s’more brownies would erupt in flame if left unattended under the broiler?!?!)

I make good cakes, great cookies, but can’t make a pie crust to save my life.

I love to run…it helps me justify the treats.

My husband is a graphic designer and photographer who spends most of his spare time on a bicycle. I am the mother to six spunky daughters, none of whom complain when they come home to a flour coated kitchen…as long as there’s something sweet in the oven.

Hi there! I just stumbled onto your blog through a link at Iowa Girl Eats for your oatmeal cookies, and I already feel like we have so much in common – minus 2 kids! I have 3 boys and a girl, love to run, and love to bake. And yes, you are so right – no one complains when they come home to a messy kitchen and something delicious in the oven!! Love your blog – I’ll be reading it regularly!

Try this pie crust recipe. Without fats and really hard to mess up.

2 cups and 2 tbsp of flour
2/3 cup of oil
1/4 cup cold water
salt

It is a family recipe and we use it for sweet and salty pies. I guess you can add a little sugar in it for a sweet one.

Good luck!
